In C' is a musical piece composed by Terry Riley in 1964 for an indefinite number of performers. A series of short melodic fragments, "In C" is often cited as the first minimalist composition.
At sunset, during Golden Hour moving into dusk, musicians will collaborate on the roughly sixty minute work. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments to the Bulb, and if possible a chair and music stand.
All performances of 'In C' are unique, as players respond to not only the simple one-page score, but to each other, the time of day, and their surroundings.
Staged outdoors at the extraordinary Bulb Amphitheater, this all-inclusive celebratory event promises to be a joyous, inspiring, and a clear musical signal of hope and optimism.
After you have signed up, we will share additional information as we approach the 20th dauy of the event. Thank you for your participation! We can't wait to make music with the whole community! albanybulbeventseries@gmail.com.
